Well, I had to get rid of Ziggy.  I'm really heartbroken... Even though she thought I was a giant monster that was trying to consume her every time I tried to handle her, I think I was getting attached to the little bugger.  I just don't have the time to spend with her every day that she needs/deserves.  I feel like I gave her a really good second chance, though... One she wouldn't have gotten if I weren't such an animal lover.

On a really cool note, we found 2 baby EASTERN hognose snakes around the house this weekend... Usually we just have the southern variety which are much more drab in color.  The easterns are fairly rare around these parts, and to find 2 of them within a day of one another leads me to believe they must have hatched out somewhere near home.  The first one did his little "flare up like a cobra" thing... It was really sweet.

I love nature.

Man, I'm really very upset about the death of Steve Irwin.  It was a dream of mine to go down to the Australia Zoo and meet him one day.  I still want to go one day, maybe take my kids, and tell them all about how awesome of a bloke ol' Steve-O was.

Back in Jack-town after my little 2-week "summer vacation" ....

I always find things that I think I want to write about on my Xanga, but I always forget them... So that sucks... Maybe I need to get a little spiral notebook to write stuff down on...

Anyway...
