One test down, one to go, then I'm free for the weekend... Sorta...
I had some tough luck leaving campus the other day... It was pouring down rain like mad and as I was driving home, I heard a little thump and my A/C stopped working and I thought "Dangit... The darned belt broke again..." You see, I had just been stranded in Morton but a week earlier because the belt that turns the alternator had broken. Well, when I got to my apartment, I lifted the hood an noticed that the belt was indeed intact, and I figured that it must have just slipped off. So today my uncle and I were all set up to replace the belt when he reaches under the car and pulls out the broken pulley that attaches to the engine crank shaft to which all of the belts attach. You see, the belt had not slipped off, but the pulley had broken off. NOT GOOD. We call around to see who has one, and luckily the Mitsubishi dealership had one, but to the tune of about $300. OUCH. We get home, yadda yadda yadda, 30-45 minutes later the pulley is replaced and the belts are again turning. The car is fixed. No more screeching belts, and no more strandedness between Jackson and Meridian (hopefully)... The A/C works alot better now, too.
On a completely opposite note... The tank is coming right along... The pic here doesn't do it justice. It looks good so far, but the glass still has a little fine particulate sand on it. Still pretty boring looking to the untrained eye , but here's a pic of day 4:
Hopefully I'll have something to look at in there before too long!
